A helicopter flight opens Flockhill and the surrounding Southern Alps in ways no other journey can. We have made connections with the best of New Zealand's Te Waipounamu tourism partners to bring together curated heli packages and fully customisable tours. Each flight departs directly from Flockhill Lodge, making the skies an effortless extension of your stay. For seasonal heli adventures, like heli-skiing or whale watching, please speak with a reservationist to tailor your experience. 

Many of these adventures can also be added to your heli arrival or departure, creating a seamless and spectacular way to begin or end your time at Flockhill.

Summit to Sky with Inflite

For the ultimate alpine adventure, Flockhill has partnered with Inflite to create Summit to Sky, a full-day, private Ski Plane & Helicopter journey into the heart of the Southern Alps.

Begin with a helicopter transfer from Flockhill to Aoraki Mount Cook for a guided heli-hike on the Tasman Glacier, where you’ll explore ice caves and ancient crevasses. Pause for a picnic prepared in-house by Sugarloaf chefs, then continue with a historic ski plane flight across Mt Cook National Park, Franz Josef and Fox Glaciers, and the rugged West Coast, with the chance to land on untouched snowfields.

The day concludes with a return to Flockhill, complete with spontaneous alpine landings—an unforgettable journey from summit to sky.

Aerial Station Tour

Whether you’ve explored Flockhill by horseback, bike, vehicle, or on foot, nothing compares to seeing it all from above. This private flight reveals the sheer diversity of the station- rolling valleys, ridgelines, winding rivers, and alpine lakes, all stitched together in one breathtaking panorama.

Glacier Tour

One of our most in-demand experiences, the Glacier Tour takes you beyond the station to soar over some of New Zealand’s most famous glaciers as well as hidden treasures rarely seen by visitors. Unique to Flockhill is the local “Garden of Eden,” a hidden gem unseen by most. With our heli partners, each flight can be tailored to your interests and the specific glaciers you want to visit.
